The rule that each new piece must only touch at the corners forces real strategic thinking—my whole family got hooked immediately.

I bought this for my 7-year-old and ended up playing it more than he does. The way each new piece has to touch a corner of the same color instead of just any edge really makes you think ahead, and games finish in about 20 minutes.

The corner-start rule makes every game feel different since you're building outward from your own little territory. My wife and I played three rounds the first night and it got surprisingly cutthroat once we started blocking each other. Great for adults too, not just the kids it's marketed toward.
