My three-year-old loves weighing her plastic apples on this, and the metal tray is sturdy enough to handle a real orange without wobbling. The sliding weights are surprisingly easy for small fingers to move, making it a hit during pretend grocery trips.

The little balancing arm works exactly like a real scale, so my kids actually fight over who gets to weigh the plastic apples. It’s solid enough that I don’t worry about it tipping over on the playroom floor, and the retro look fits right in with their kitchen setup.

My three-year-old loves loading the wooden tray with toy veggies and watching the scale tip. The retro styling makes it feel sturdy and special, not like a cheap plastic toy. It has definitely inspired more creative market play.
