Compare the Grubs Splash Patrol Sprinkler and the Push and Pull Go Wheelie to decide which outdoor active play toy best suits your toddler's needs and your play space.
Quick answer
Choose the Grubs Splash Patrol Sprinkler for outdoor water play that gets preschoolers moving, or the Push and Pull Go Wheelie for indoor/outdoor gross motor skill development without water.
Water play vs. all-terrain movement
The Splash Patrol Sprinkler turns a garden hose into a multi-directional spray zone, perfect for hot days when kids want to cool off while running and dodging. The Push and Pull Go Wheelie works on any flat surface—indoors or out—and focuses on balance and coordination through pushing and pulling action.
Both toys support active play but in completely different contexts. The sprinkler is seasonal and requires outdoor setup; the wheelie is year-round and works in a living room or on a patio.
Age and skill considerations
The sprinkler is rated for ages 3 and up, making it a better fit for preschoolers who can follow simple safety rules around water. The wheelie is rated for ages 2 and up, so it can serve younger toddlers who are still building walking confidence.
If you have siblings of different ages, the wheelie may offer more inclusive play since it does not require mature motor control to enjoy.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Water fun vs. dry play: The sprinkler offers immediate, exciting water play that encourages running and dodging. The wheelie provides calmer, skill-focused movement without mess.
- Seasonal vs. year-round use: The sprinkler is best for warm months and requires a hose and outdoor space. The wheelie works indoors and outdoors in any weather. If you need a toy that works in small spaces or during winter, the wheelie is the practical choice.
- Age range fit: Sprinkler is for ages 3+. Wheelie is for ages 2+. Families with younger toddlers will find the wheelie more accessible.
Product facts at a glance

Grubs Splash Patrol Sprinkler - Push and Pull Go Wheelie: Measures 23.5" high and is designed for push-and-pull play indoors and outdoors. The height suits toddlers who are standing and walking, and the lack of water means it can be used year-round on any flat surface.
