My kindergarteners love reading about President's Day independently, and the bright illustrations keep them turning pages. The simple sentences in Celebrating Father's Day were perfect for building their confidence.

The holiday set is a great find for early readers—the stories are short enough to finish before bedtime, and the President's Day one gave my first-grader a surprising amount to talk about at dinner. The paperback pages feel sturdy for how much we've already flipped through them.

My kindergartner actually asked to read "Celebrating President's Day" a second time, which never happens with her school books. The simple sentences and bright pictures kept her attention, and she picked up new vocabulary words naturally.
