The included sand makes setup so easy, and the clear habitat walls let us watch the ants dig their tunnels from day one. My kids have spent hours every afternoon tracking their progress and refilling the food dish.

My six-year-old has been glued to the magnifying viewer watching the tunnels form since we got the colony set up. The included sand is perfect consistency for them to dig without collapsing.

The sand makes it super easy to see the tunnels the ants dig, and the habitat is sturdy enough to survive my 6-year-old's handling. We've had the colony for three weeks now and the kids check on it every morning.
