The mallet is the perfect size for little hands, and my four-year-old figured out how to tap out a beat within minutes. It's held up fine against some pretty enthusiastic drumming, too.

My three-year-old grabbed the block and started tapping away immediately, and I love that it's simple enough for her to explore on her own. The sound is pleasantly soft, not ear-piercing like some kids' instruments. It's already become a favorite in our playroom.

The mallet is chunky enough for little hands to grip without slipping, and the sound it makes on the block is pleasantly crisp rather than harsh. My daughter has been tapping out her own rhythms for twenty minutes straight, which says a lot for a toy these days.
